Two source ecosystems, one list

Hundreds of sources from the Tachiyomi/Mihon APK ecosystem, plus JavaScript sources from Mangayomi run in a sandboxed process — installed, browsed and read the same way. Add as many repositories as you like, with signature trust prompts and automatic updates.

📖

Four reading modes

Single page, dual-page spreads, webtoon with auto-scroll, and Smart Panels that detect and step through individual comic panels. Per-manga overrides remember how each series reads best.

🗂️

A library that works for you

Categories with per-category update schedules, rule-based dynamic categories, instant full-text search, custom covers, editable metadata, and cross-source duplicate merging.

🔄

Five trackers, two-way sync

MyAnimeList, AniList, Kitsu, MangaUpdates, and Shikimori — log in once and your reading progress syncs both ways in the background, with conflict resolution you control.

📥

Serious offline support

Download chapters as CBZ (optionally encrypted), queue with pause/resume/priority, download-ahead while you read, and read local CBZ/ZIP/EPUB files or OPDS catalogs (Komga, Kavita).

🔒

Private by design

No analytics, no ads, no AI, no account. Crash reporting is opt-in only. Credentials live in Android's encrypted Keystore, and a biometric app lock and incognito mode are built in.

💾

Backups that keep everything

Full local backup and restore — your customizations, per-manga reader settings, notes, categories and tracker links — with per-section control over what goes in. Plus scheduled WebDAV cloud backup and Tachiyomi backup import.

📊

Know your habits

A statistics dashboard with a reading heatmap, achievements, streaks, and a data-usage view. Smart notification batching with quiet hours keeps updates polite.

🎨

Material You, properly

Dynamic color, ten theme palettes, AMOLED dark, e-ink reader mode, predictive back, home-screen widgets, and Baseline Profiles for a fast cold start.

Built like an app should be

100% Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, clean architecture with MVI, Room, Hilt, and WorkManager — a modern alternative to Mihon/Tachiyomi that inherits its extension ecosystem instead of reinventing it, and runs Mangayomi's JavaScript sources alongside it.

Open source. Your library stays on your device.

Otaku Reader — built by a solo developer, powered by the Tachiyomi extension ecosystem.
